Hit Frequency
A metric, expressed as a percentage, that indicates how often, on average, a slot machine will produce a winning combination of any size.
Hit Frequency describes the rate of winning spins. A hit frequency of 25% means that, on average, one in every four spins will result in a payout.
It is crucial to understand that this metric is independent of RTP. A game can have a high hit frequency by paying out many small wins that are less than the original stake (e.g., spin for £1, “win” £0.20). This metric is closely related to a game’s Volatility:
– Low Volatility games usually have a high hit frequency.
– High Volatility games usually have a low hit frequency.
